Park Chan-Wook directed the original with an insane energy, whereas Lee only delivers a formula action film. While the script is surprisingly faithful to the original, it signposts everything in a way that blows the big twist ending

Nicely produced, not much substance – the most interesting parts are when it gets to mess around with the fairytale
